Este nuevo álbum se introduce y explora aún más en nuestro propio estilo que hemos ido consolidando y definiendo en los últimos discos. De esta forma, todo el trabajo de orquesta y coro ha sido muy elaborado y está en perfecta simbiosis con los instrumentos de rock.
Gracias a ello el álbum tiene pasajes de mucho dramatismo y con toda la expresividad que pretendíamos al iniciar la obra.
La temática de Ancestral Romance gira en torno a la cultura e historia de España, como queda bien constatado en piezas como Ah Wretched me! basado en la vida es sueño de Calderón de la Barca , Tilt at Windmills basada en el Quijote, Mio Cid inspirada en la leyenda del héroe español el Cid Campeador, Alaric de Marnac, adaptación del último libro de Paul Naschy del mismo titulo, Love from the Stone que nos habla de la leyenda de los amantes de Teruel, Gadir inspirada en la primera ciudad fundada de Europa: Cádiz.Ritual Fire Dance adaptación de la Danza del Fuego de Manuel de Falla, autor español.
Todas las letras han sido escritas por el poeta español Francisco José García , habitual colaborador de la banda.Gracias a su gran trabajo, Alfred ha podido conectar muy bien con el espíritu de cada canción y realizar un gran trabajo de interpretación, destacando cada vez más con su timbre natural de barítono.
También en este álbum aparece la primera canción completamente en castellano de Dark Moor , La Canción del Pirata donde la banda ha puesto música al famoso poema de Espronceda. |
